On effectue une extraction liquide-liquide sélective des dites liqueurs dans des conditions produisant une phase organique contenant l'acide sulfurique et une phase aqueuse contenant éventuellement des impuretés. On traite la phase organique par une base, telle que le NH3 gazeux pour séparer l'acide sulfurique. Procédé facile, non polluant, requiert peu d'énergie.
