A process for the selective hydrogenation of the methyl acetylene and propadiene (MAPD) in a propylene rich stream (101) is disclosed wherein the selective hydrogenation is carried out stepwise (a) first in a single pass fixed bed reactor (20 or 30) and then (b) in a distillation column reactor (40) containing a supported PdO hydrogenation catalyst (41) which serves as a component of a distillation structure. Conversion and selectivity to propylene are improved over the use of the single pass fixed bed reactor alone.

Cette invention concerne un procédé d'hydrogénation sélective de méthyl acétylène et de propadiène (MAPD) dans un flux riche en propylène (101). Selon ce procédé, l'hydrogénation sélective se déroule par étapes, (a) d'abord dans un réacteur à lit fixe et à passe unique (20 ou 30), puis (b) dans un réacteur à colonne de distillation (40) renfermant un catalyseur d'hydrogénation (41) à support PdO (41) qui intervient comme composant d'une structure de distillation. Par rapport à l'utilisation d'un seul réacteur à lit fixe et passage unique, ce procédé garantit une meilleure conversion et une meilleure sélectivité propyléniques.
