Abstract of the Disclosure Process for the separation of sterols or mixtures of sterols from mixtures of unsaponifiables obtained from crude soap skimmings, soap of vegetable oil, animal fat or the like, by dissolving the mixture of unsaponifiables, extracting the polar components including the sterols into a hydrophilic solvent mixture, separating the hydro- philic phase and crystallising the sterols from said phase by concentrating and cooling.
