Hydrogenated distillable hydrocarbonaceous product is produced from a first feed comprising hydrocarbonaceous compounds and having a non-distillable component, and a second feed comprising halogenated organic compounds by contacting the first feed with a hot hydrogen-rich gaseous stream to increase the temperature of this feed stream and to vaporize at least a portion of the distillable hydrocarbonaceous compounds thereby producing a distillable hydrocarbonaceous product which is immediately hydrogenated in an integrated first hydrogenation zone and thereafter contacting the second feed with hydrogen in a second hydrogenation zone at hydrogenation conditions to produce a hydrogenated hydrocarbonaceous product and at least one water-soluble inorganic halide compound.
