ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A novel, commercially-applicable process has been provided for the preparation of-.alpha.-terthienyl. It has surprisingly been found that the yields of .alpha.-terthienyl are at least as great if the process were carried out in an n-propyl ether soluent instead of a diethyl ether solvent. An effective purification process is also provided for a scaled up reaction.
