ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a new process for the synthesis of ethanol. The process comprises directly generating ethanol through an in vivo combined system of photosynthetic carbon fixation and ethanol generation using genetically engineered photosynthetic microorganisms. The process removes the inefficiency and losses of the prior art systems.
