ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Process for the production of urea comprising reaction steps between ammonia and CO2 in one or more reactor(s), so as to produce an aqueous solution contain- ing urea, ammonium carbamate and the excess of ammonia used in the synthesis, the decomposition of ammonium carbamate in decomposers, with possibly stripping the decomposition products, the condensation in condensers of the carbamate decomposition products together with the possible stripping agents. The decomposers and/or condensers are pieces of equipment of the type provided with tube nest and are constituted by an extratube structure for the portion in contact with the process fluids of urea-grade steel, and the tubes of the nest are constituted by stainless steel tubes internally lined with a thin zirconium foil not welded to said tubes.
