A B S T R A C T There is disclosed a solid-liquid separation process useful for separation of suspended material from a suspension having a solid concentrat- ion of less than 10 g/l. The process comprises adding to the suspension at least 0.5 ppm of an organic high molecular weight flocculating agent and then adding thereto at least 10 ppm of an inorganic metal salt flocculating agent so that the resulting mixture has a particle concentration of not lower than 10 g/l. In a treating tank, the mixture is agitated to impart an upward and rolling current motions thereby to effect a granulation of a mass of the particles and thereafter the granulated particles are separated from the liquid.
