Process for treatment of waste water streams containing at least hydrocarbons and salts to yield a clean water product, a concen-trated brine product and a hydrocarbon-rich product, which process comprises the steps of: (a) feeding the waste water feed into a first distillation column (2) at a stage in the range of from 0.05*n to 0.15*n from the top, wherein n represents the total number of the-oretical stages of the first distillation column and has a value in the range of from 20 to 40; (b) drawing off a vapour stream (9)at a stage in the range of from 0.55*n to 0.75*n from the top and feeding this vapour stream into the bottom of a second distillation col-umn (10) having m theoretical stages, with m having a value in the range of from 3 to 10; (c) drawing off the clean water product (14) as the top fraction from the second distilla-tion column (10) and drawing off a bottom stream (11) from the second distillation col-umn (10), which is fed back into the first distillation column (2) below the draw off of the vapour stream (9) in step (b) at a stage in the range of from 0.60*n to 0.85*n from the top; (d) drawing off the concentrated brine product (16) as the bottom fraction of the first distillation column (2); and (e) drawing off the hydrocarbon stream (7) as the top fraction of the first distillation column (2).

L'invention porte sur un procédé de traitement d'eaux usées contenant au moins des hydrocarbures et des sels et produisant: de l'eau épurée, une saumure concentrée et un produit riche en hydrocarbures. Ledit procédé comporte les étapes suivantes: (a) introduction des eaux usées dans une première colonne de distillation à un étage compris entre les niveaux 0,05*n et 0,15*n à partir du sommet, n représentant le nombre des étages théoriques (compris entre 20 et 40) de cette première colonne; (b) extraction d'un flux de vapeurs à un étage compris entre les niveaux 0,55*n et 0,75*n à partir du sommet et acheminement dudit courant à la base d'une deuxième colonne de distillation présentant m étages théoriques, m étant compris entre 3 et 10; (c) extraction de l'eau épurée en tant que fraction de tête de la deuxième colonne de distillation et extraction d'un produit de bas de colonne de ladite colonne et réintroduction dudit produit dans la première colonne de distillation au dessous du niveau d'extraction de l'étape (b) à un étage compris entre les niveaux 0,60*n et 0,85*n à partir du sommet; (d) extraction de la saumure concentrée à la base de la première colonne; et (e) extraction du flux d'hydrocarbure en tant que fraction de tête de la première colonne de distillation.
