- 42 - PROCESS FOR TRANSMITTING AND/OR STORING INFORMATION ABSTRACT A process for the transmission and/or storage of information defined in digital form comprises transforming the clear file, containing said information, to graphic equivalent form, transmitting and/or storing the same in such graphic-equivalent form and bringing it back to digital form. An article of manufacture is also provided which consists of the graphic-equivalent form of a computer file defined on a backing. In a particular form of the invention, the clear file is created by compressing an original file, containing the digital information, and the transmitted and/or stored file is decompressed, after bringing it back to digital form. An apparatus for transmitting color pictures by fax by the aforesaid process is also provided.
