A process is disclosed for transporting a thermally unstable viscous mass through a pipe with a predetermined breaking point for letting out an overpressure. When an overpressure is reached, said predetermined breaking point breaks and lets out the overpressure. The predetermined breaking point is located inside the pipe but is not part of the inner wall of the pipe.

Le procédé décrit permet de transporter une masse visqueuse thermiquement instable par un conduit pourvu d'un point destiné à la rupture par lequel une surpression peut s'échapper. Lorsqu'une surpression est atteinte, ce point destiné à la rupture se rompt et laisse s'échapper la surpression. Le point destiné à la rupture se situe à l'intérieur du conduit mais ne fait pas partie de la paroi intérieure du conduit.
