A process for beneficiating crude kaolin clay (10) under defined conditions with a sufficient amount and concentration of aluminum chlorohydrate (21) (0.5 to about 5.0 active wt.%) to improve the clay's ability to adsorb pitch during the process of making paper. The invention also relates to the treated clay and the use of the clay in a papermaking process to adsorb pitch and/or anionic trash.
Procédé destiné à enrichir l'argile du type kaolin brut (10) dans des conditions définies avec une quantité et une concentration suffisantes de chlorhydrate d'aluminium (21) (de 0,5 à 5,0 % en poids actif), et permettant d'améliorer l'aptitude de l'argile à adsorber la poix au cours d'un processus de fabrication de papier. L'invention se rapporte également à l'argile ainsi traitée et à son utilisation dans un procédé de fabrication de papier pour adsorber la poix et/ou les déchets anioniques.
