A method and apparatus for continuously treating a moist biomass feedstock is disclosed. The method includes treating a biomass feedstock with a swelling agent in a pressurized first vessel, transferring the feedstock to a second vessel at a lower operating pressure than the first vessel such that the biomass fibers rupture. At least portions the swelling agent, and/or the moisture are recycled in the process.
L'invention concerne une méthode et un appareil pour traiter de manière continue une charge de biomasse humide. Cette méthode consiste à traiter une charge de biomasse au moyen d'un agent de gonflement dans un premier contenant pressurisé, à transférer cette charge dans un second contenant, à une pression fonctionnelle inférieure à celle du premier contenant, de sorte à rompre les fibres de la biomasse. Au moins certaines parties de l'agent de gonflement et/ou de l'humidité sont recyclées dans ce procédé.
