A B S T R A C T A method of treating mineral ores, concentrates or intermediates in slurry or solution form comprising subjecting the slurry or solution to a magnetic field, either once or a plurality of times, while simultaneously maintaining the slurry or solution in turbulent flow. The magnetic flux treatment enhances the processes of oxidative leaching of metals, surface adsorption of metal ions and desorption of the said metal ions. The magnetic flux treatment may be applied at any one or all of the leaching, adsorption or disorption stages.
