A process for upgrading brown coal and/or the recovery of metal values. The process includes providing two or more converging surfaces defining a nip therebetween wherein, at least one of said surfaces is rollable in a direction toward said nip; feeding material to said nip where, by the rolling action of the rollable surface, under shear stresses the material forms a plastic mass. The invention also extends to a process for the production of char and/or metal char composites, with the optional recovery of metal values, by heating pellets formed from the upgraded brown coal process.
Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé pour valoriser de la lignite et/ou pour en récupérer les valeurs métalliques, ce procédé consistant à former au moins deux surfaces convergentes définissant entre elles un espacement, en direction duquel au moins une de ces surfaces peut rouler; à introduire un matériau dans cet espacement où, par roulement de la surface pouvant rouler et sous les contraintes de cisaillement, le matériau va former une masse plastique. Cette invention concerne également un procédé servant à produire du noir de charbon et/ou des composites métal/noir de charbon, avec récupération optionnelle des valeurs métalliques, en chauffant les granules formées par le procédé de valorisation de la lignite.
