L'invention se rapporte à un procédé de blanchiment sans chlore de pâte chimique associé à la fabrication de celle-ci. Une suspension de pâte a de préférence une concentration dépassant 8 % de la matière fibreuse contenant de la cellulose, et la pâte pénétrant dans une ligne de blanchiment est de préférence amenée en continu dans au moins une cuve de blanchiment de la ligne de blanchiment, et est traitée avec au moins un acide afin d'ajuster le pH à une valeur inférieure à 7, ainsi qu'avec un agent de chélation. La pâte est ensuite blanchie en au moins une étape jusqu'à un degré de blanc dépassant 75 % ISO, dépassant de préférence 80 %, avec du peroxyde d'hydrogène ou la quantité correspondante d'un autre peroxyde, utilisé en une quantité dépassant 5 kg/BDMT. Le blanchiment au peroxyde se fait à une température élevée et à une pression dans la cuve de blanchiment qui dépasse 2 bar. La superficie de la section de la cuve de blanchiment dépasse 3 m<2> et la surface de la surface métallique tournée vers l'intérieur de la cuve de blanchiment est inférieure à 4V m<2>, V indiquant le volume en m<3>.
