A continuous process for preparing nonwoven fabrics of polybenzazole filaments, which comprises spinning at least two polybenzazole dope filaments from a spinning head (1) simultaneously, through a quench chamber (2), over godet rolls (3), through an aspirator (4) and intermingling and depositing the filaments on a substantially planar collecting surface (5).

L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'étoffes non tissées composées de filaments de polybenzazole consistant à soumettre deux filaments de pâte de polybenzazole à une opération de filage à partir d'une tête à filières (1); on fait passer lesdits filaments dans une chambre de refroidissement avant leur passage entre des godets de filage (3) et à travers un aspirateur (4); on soumet ensuite lesdits filaments à une opération qui vise à les mélanger intimement et à les déposer sur une surface collectrice plane.
