ABSTRACT A surgical implantation element of plastic material intended for use as an implant or prosthesis in orthopedic or traumatologic surgery, has a body that is made by coating plastic material around a strengthening, mainly metallic, insert. An important economy is achieved through - lowering the cost of manufacture because of the great easiness of application of the plastic materials. The cost of the raw material is lowered while obtaining a product of high quality, due to its reduced weight and to its reactive inactivity inside the patient's body. The strengthening insert is placed inside a mould reproducing the counter-impression of the element to be produced and the plastics material is introduced inside the impression by distributing it around said insert.
