ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: This invention relates to a process for manufacturing semifinished products which are made from an Al-Mn alloy and can be soldered and enamelled, have a high resistance to corro- sion and in a completely recrystallized state still have an ultimate tensile stress of at least 150 N/mm2. In accordance with this process a melt which contains 0.8 to 2% manganese, 0.6 to 3% silicon, 0.2 to 1% iron, 0 to 0.2% copper, 0 to 0.2% magnesium, balance aluminum and in a total up to 0.2% unavoidable impurities which are due to the process of manufacture, is continuously cast to make an ingot, which is annealed at 400 to 620° C for 2 to 20 hours and is then hot- rolled and cold-rolled to the final dimensions of the semi- finished product, which is subsequently process-annealed at a temperature above 450°C.
