ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Lipase is obtained by treating comminuted pancreas tissue with a mixture of 80-95% by volume of a halogenated hydrocarbon having a boiling point of 47° to 130° and a density greater than 1.3 or an aromatic or aliphatic hydrocarbon having a boiling point of 47° to 130° and a density of 0.655 to 0.88 and a water immiscible alcohol having 4 to 6 carbons.
