ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a process of manufacturing a tire for vehicle wheels, an annular crown reinforcement is placed around the carcass of the tire. As the crown reinforcement there is used at least one elastically deformable annular net formed of two superimposed plies of wires at least the outside of which wires is formed of an elastic and weldable material. At the points of inter-section these wires are welded to each other. The wires may also be in the form of a cable metallic or otherwise, enclosed in a sheath of an elastic and weldable material. `
