The present invention relates to a process for preparing a high-yield pulp comprising a) treating a lignocellulose containing material chemically by means of an oxidising system comprising at least one non-enzymatic oxidant substantially free from ozone and chlorine dioxide and an activator at a pH from about 2 to about 6.5; and b) treating the lignocellulose containing material mechanically for a time sufficient to produce a high-yield pulp, wherein the lignocellulose containing material is chemically treated prior to and/or during any mechanical treatment stage, and wherein the lignocellulose containing material is not chemically treated at a pH from about 11.5 to about 14 between stages a) and b).

La présente invention concerne un procédé destiné à la préparation d'une pâte à haut rendement, consistant : a) à traiter une substance contenant de la lignocellulose par voie chimique à l'aide d'un système d'oxydation comprenant au moins un oxydant non enzymatique sensiblement exempt d'ozone et de dioxyde de chlore et un activateur à un pH compris entre 2 et 6.5 environ, puis b) à traiter la substance contenant de la lignocellulose par voie mécanique pendant un laps de temps suffisant pour produire une pâte à haut rendement. La substance contenant de la lignocellulose est traitée par voie chimique avant et/ou pendant une quelconque étape de traitement par voie mécanique. La substance contenant de la lignocellulose n'est pas traitée par voie chimique à un pH compris entre 11.5 et 14 environ entre les étapes a) et b).
