PROCESS OF RADIOIMAGING THE MYOCARDIUM OF MAMMALS UTILIZING RADIOLABELED LIPOPHILIC CATIONS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention is directed to a composition of radiochemical purity and suitable for intravenous injection into a mammal for preferential concentration in the myocardium, which composition comprises radiolabeled lipophilic cations of quaternary ammonium, quaternary phosphonium or quaternary arson- ium compounds having the general formula Image where R1 and R2 are alkyl or aryl groups, R3 is a phenyl or benzyl group, R4 is a radiolabeled phenyl or benzyl group and X- is Br-, I- or Cl- and where L is I123, I125, I131, Br77, Br82 or F18 and Z is nitrogen, phosphorous or arsenic in admix- ture with a suitable carrier or diluent. The composition of the present invention is useful in a process for radioimaging the myocardium of mammals.
