ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process is described in which the viscosity and strength of pulps obtained by the addition of formamidine sulfinic acid is stabilized following processing with ozone or ozone/oxygen, to a level that is achieved by conventional bleaching processes that involve the use of chlorine.
