ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a process to hingedly connect a door to a piece of furniture, for example a side wall of a piece of furniture, the connecting pieces being hinges comprising a hinge arm and a dowel cup or the like, which are connected to each other by means of toggle joints, preferably two toggle joints which form a link quadrangel and the door and the associated side wall of a piece of furniture are provided wit? dowel holes, wherein the side wall of the piece of furniture and the door leafs are approached to an assembly place, preferably at one level and preferably at the same time, the bearing surfaces for the hinge arm and the dowel cup being at the same level and the distance (A) between the bearing surfaces at the side of the wall of the piece of furniture and at the side of the door corresponds to the distance (B) between the dowel cup and the nose-shaped member or members, which are for example dowel pins of the hinge arm, and which bearing surfaces are for example formed by the dowel holes, the dowel cup and the hinge arm being mounted on or inserted in the corresponding piece of furniture and locked at the same time or at least, approximately at the same time.
