A process to increase resistance to tearing in a heat-resettable material is described, followed by extruding a polymer of a specified crosslinking density to produce a plastic web. After cooling the plastic web is heated by creating a temperature decreasing towards its core and stretched at core temperature below crystalline melting temperature of partially crystalline and crystalline polymers resulting in a distribution of orientation over the full section of the plastic web. Resistance to tearing will be essentially increased in this manner based on a simple, low-cost production process.

Divulgation d'un procédé pour améliorer la résistance à la déchirure d'une matière thermorétractable comprenant l'extrusion d'un polymère de densité de réticulation déterminée afin de produire une feuille de plastique. Après son refroidissement, la feuille de plastique est chauffée en créant un gradient de températures décroissantes vers son âme, puis étirée à une température de l'âme inférieure à la température de fusion cristalline de polymères cristallins ou partiellement cristallins, résultant ainsi en diverses orientations dans toute la section de cette feuille de plastique. L'augmentation de la résistance à la déchirure est obtenue principalement de cette manière, à l'aide de ce procédé de production simple et peu coûteux.
