La présente invention a pour objet des procédés de fabrication d'alcools d'oxazolidinone (III), à substitution 5-hydroxyméthyle à partir de carbamates (IIA) ou d'un trifluoroacétamide (IIB), dans lequel on utilise comme produit de départ un composé dihydroxy (I) ou un glycidol (IV), et de transformation des alcools d'oxazolidinone (III) à substitution hydroxyméthyle en composés aminés correspondants et en amines d'oxazolidinone (VII) à substitution 5- hydroxymethyle qui sont acylées pour former un oxazolidinone (VIII) à substitution 5-hydroxyméthyle utile, commercialement parlant, en tant qu'anti-bactérien.
