63356-1632 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Processable conductive polymers prepared by an oxidative polymerization are disclosed. A monomer which is oxidatively polymerizable into an electrically conductive polymer is polymerized with the aid of a chemical oxidizing agent in a reaction medium containing a dispersed phase of a polymeric counterion having anionic surface character. The polymeric counterion, which is in affiliation with the oxidatively polymerized polymer, confers processability to the conductive polymer material. The oxidative polymerization method enables the production of a processable polymeric dispersion which is coatable to a useful electrically conductive film.
