Process and apparatus for quantitatively converting urea to ammonia-on demand are disclosed. One process includes the steps of: receiving a demand rate signal for ammonia; feeding reactants including urea and water into a reactor to provide a reaction mixture; and controlling temperature and pressure in the reactor to produce a gaseous product stream including ammonia and carbon dioxide at substantially constant concentrations. Another process includes the steps of: feeding molten urea or solid urea to a reactor; feeding water (liquid or steam) to the reactor; and reacting the urea and water at elevated temperature and pressure to form a gaseous product stream including ammonia and carbon dioxide.
L'invention porte sur des procédés et appareils de conversion quantitative à la demande d'urée en ammoniac. L'un des procédés consiste à: recevoir un signal de demande d'une quantité d'ammoniac; alimenter un réacteur en urée et en eau pour obtenir un mélange réactif; contrôler la température et la pression du réacteur de manière à obtenir un flux gazeux contenant de l'ammoniac et du CO2 à des concentrations sensiblement constantes. Un autre procédé consiste à: alimenter le réacteur en urée fondu ou solide; alimenter le réacteur en eau (liquide ou sous forme de vapeur); et faire réagir l'urée et l'eau à température et pression élevées pour former un flux gazeux contenant de l'ammoniac et du CO2.
