Thus, the process is for the preparation of a compound of the formula (I) Image or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, wherein R is benzyl or (C1-C5)alkyl and R1 is (C1-C5)alkyl, and comprises heating a compound of the formula (III) Image and an acid catalyst, or an acid addition salt of the compound of the formula (III), with at least one molar equivalent of an amine of the formula R2NH2 neat or in a reaction-inert solvent.
