Processes for producing aromatic dicarboxylic acids are disclosed, the processes including a step of combining in a reaction medium a dialkyl aromatic, a solvent comprising water and a saturated organic acid having from 2-4 carbon atoms, and an oxygen-containing gas, at a temperature from about 125~C to about 1550C, in the presence of a catalyst composition comprising cobalt, manganese, zirconium, and bromine, wherein the weight ratio of cobalt to manganese in the reaction mixture is fro about 10 to about 400. The processes provide improved conversion, while reducing the formation of carbon oxides and other by-products.
L'invention concerne des procédés de production d~acides dicarboxyliques aromatiques, lesdits procédés incluant une étape consistant à combiner, dans un milieu réactionnel, un composé aromatique dialkylique, un solvant comprenant de l~eau et un acide organique saturé ayant de 2 à 4 atomes de carbone et enfin un gaz contenant de l~oxygène, à une température située de 125 °C à environ 155 °C, en présence d~une composition catalytique comprenant du cobalt, du manganèse, du zirconium et du brome, le rapport massique du cobalt sur le manganèse dans le mélange réactionnel allant d~environ 10 à environ 400. Ces procédés offrent une conversion améliorée, tout en réduisant la formation d~oxydes de carbone et autres sous-produits.
