ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method is provided for final texture annealing silicon steel to produce a cube-on-edge grain orientation having lower core losses and higher magnetic permeability. The method includes using a controlled heating cycle including an isothermal hold at a selected recrystallization temperature of about 1650°F to improve secondary recrystallization and the Goss texture (110)[001].
