A method of processing seismic data comprises the step of: obtaining an estimated data trace for a target location by interpolation from a first set of spatially irregularly sampled seismic data traces. The interpolation step comprises applying a weighting function dependent on the target location. The weighting function may be proportional to a sinc function, where sinc (x,f) = sin (xf)/xf, with a sinc frequency that varies locally dependent on the target location.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de traiter des données sismiques, qui consiste: à obtenir une trace de données estimées pour localiser une cible par interpolation à partir d'un premier ensemble de traces de données sismiques échantillonnées de manière irrégulière. L'étape d'interpolation consiste à appliquer une fonction de pondération dépendent de la localisation de la cible. Cette fonction de pondération peut être proportionnelle à une fonction sinc, dans laquelle sinc (x,f) = sin (xf)/xf, une fréquence sinc variant localement en fonction de la localisation de ladite cible.
