In one aspect, this invention is directed to prodrugs of ion channel modulating compounds, wherein the prodrug comprises an ion channel modulating compound attached to one or more prodrug moieties. In another aspect, this invention is directed to pharmaceutical compositions comprising prodrugs of ion channel modulating compounds and pharmaceutically acceptable excipients. In another aspect, this invention is directed to methods of treating arrhythmia in a subject in need thereof, wherein the method comprises administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a prodrug of an ion channel modulating compound or a pharmaceutical composition comprising an ion channel modulating compound and a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient.
