This invention is directed to a process for increasing production of product (46) that is formed in a reactor (100) having a combustion section in which fuel (32) is burned to produce heat to drive an endothermic reaction occurring within a reaction section (106). Production is increased by adding supplemental oxygen (12) to air (30) or other oxygen containing gas used to support combustion in the combustion section, thereby to generate more heat to support an increase in the endothermic reaction. Additionally, supplemental oxygen (12) can be introduced into the reaction section (106) to partially oxidize a reactant to generate heat and to allow an increase in the production of the product. Supplemental oxygen (12) may be added directly to the steam- methane mixture (26), or to the combustion air (30).
La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant d'augmenter la quantité de produit (46) se formant dans un réacteur (100) définissant une zone de combustion où l'on brûle un combustible (32) produisant la chaleur nécessaire à la réaction endothermique intervenant à l'intérieur d'une zone de réaction (106). Pour augmenter la production, on ajoute à l'air (30) un complément d'oxygène (12), ou un gaz oxygéné, favorisant la combustion dans la zone de combustion, ce qui, en accroissant la chaleur produite, augmente la réaction endothermique. Le complément d'oxygène (12) peut s'ajouter directement au mélange vapeur-méthane (26) ou à l'air de combustion (30).
