A process for producing a pyrotechnic delay composition includes admixing an oxidizer, a fuel, a surfactant and a liquid, to form a paste or slurry. The paste or slurry is dried to remove the liquid and to obtain a solid product which, if necessary, is rendered into particulate form. Optionally, the solid particulate product is classified to obtain a pyrotechnic delay composition in particulate form.

L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'une composition pyrotechnique retardatrice consistant à mélanger un oxydant, un combustible, un agent de surface et un liquide pour former une pâte ou bouillie. La pâte ou bouillie est séchée pour en éliminer le liquide et obtenir un produit solide qui, si nécessaire, est rendu sous une forme particulaire. Le produit particulaire solide est éventuellement classé pour obtenir une composition pyrotechnique retardatrice sous forme particulaire.
