ABSTRACT An alkoxysilane of the general formula (RO)nSi(OA)4-n where R is C1 - C6 alkyl A is - C2H4CH3; -C2H4OC2H5; -C2H4OC6H5; -C2H4OC2H4OCH3; -C2H4OC2H4OC2H?; -C2H4NR1R2 where R1 and R2 are C1 - C4 alkyl and n is 1, 2, 3 or 4, is made by the reaction of the mixture of ROH and AOH and a silicon or a silicide in a large volume of a solution containing as catalyst the metal alkoxide corresponding to the alcohol AOE.
