An aluminum alloy foil is formed from an alloy containing about 1.2 to 1.7 % by weight Fe and about 0.35 to 0.80 % by weight Si, with the balance aluminum and incidental impurities. The alloy is continuously strip cast to form a strip having a thickness less than about 25 mm, which is then cold rolled to interanneal gauge and interannealed at a temperature of at least 400 ~C. The interannealed strip is cold rolled and further annealed to form the final foil product, having excellent rollability combined with high strength of the final foil.

L'invention concerne un feuille en alliage d'aluminium formée à partir d'un alliage renfermant entre environ 1,2 et 1,7 % en poids de Fe et entre environ 0,35 et 0,80 % en poids de Si, le reste étant de l'aluminium et des impuretés relatives. L'alliage est coulé en continu en bandes, de manière à former une bande d'épaisseur inférieure à environ 25 mm; cette bande est ensuite laminée à froid à une épaisseur de recuit intermédiaire, puis est soumise à un recuit intermédiaire à une température d'au moins 400 ·C et est laminée à froid et puis recuite, de manière à former la feuille finale présentant une excellente aptitude au laminage combinée à une résistance élevée.
