ABSTRACT The method of preparing a thermoplastic polyarylether polymer which comprises reacting a first monomer composi- tion comprising an activated dihalobenzenoid compound and dihydroxybenzenoid composition comprising hydroquinone, adding to the product a second monomer composition com- prising a dihydroxybenzenoid composition consisting essen- tially of Bis-(hydroxyphenyl) compounds in a concentration of at least 50 mole percent of the total Bis- (hydroxyphenyl) compounds added in the monomer compos- itions and polymerizing.
