ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Cold soluble tea concentrates and powders are prepared by the selective removal of nonphenolic compounds of high molecu- lar weight from tea extracts, for example, by filtration through gels or through porous granules, by ultra-filtration, by reverse osmosis, by adsorption chromatography, by affinity chromatography and any other means of separating compounds of differing molecular weights and differing adsorption coefficients from each other.
