A process is described for producing extrudates from renewable raw materials, using biopolymeric materials and mineral raw materials. The properties of the biopolymeric carriers, in particular their solubility, are changed by the addition of components, to create rigid water- and temperature-resistant bodies with characteristics that make them suitable for use in the secondary-processing industry. Biopolymer raw materials in the form of grain such as wheat, rye, maize, triticale, rice, barley and buckwheat, waste material from the extraction of oil from rapeseed, cotton seed, soya, sunflower and flax seeds, animal wool such as sheep wool, plant fibres such as cotton, flax, sawdust, china cane, straw and dried grass, and mineral additives, such as ground limestone, calcium hydroxide, portland cement, marl, finely-ground fire clay, perlite, diatomaceous earth, glass and gypsum are mixed with a separately-added water-repelling agent, and are processed in an extruder to form extrudates.
