The present invention concerns a process for forming a fatty acid, a fatty acid ester or a mixture thereof from a soap-comprising starting material, in which process a metal-ion forming agent is added to the starting material, whereby a mixture is formed, which contains an insoluble phase and a liquid phase, the insoluble phase is separated from the liquid phase, and an acid is added into the insoluble phase to form a fatty acid, or a monohydric alcohol and an acid catalyst are added to form a fatty acid ester, whereby two phases are formed, an aqueous phase and an organic phase, or, first, an acid is added and then a monohydric alcohol and an acid catalyst are added into at least a portion of the formed fatty acid to esterify the fatty acid.
La présente invention concerne un processus de fabrication d'acide gras, d'ester d'acide gras ou d'un mélange de ceux-ci à partir d'un matériau de départ comprenant du savon. Dans ce processus, un agent formant un ion métallique est ajouté au matériau de départ, un mélange est formé, contenant une phase non soluble et une phase liquide, la phase non soluble étant séparée de la phase liquide, et un acide est ajouté dans la phase non soluble afin de former un acide gras, ou un alcool monohydrique et un catalyseur acide sont ajoutés afin de former un ester d'acide gras, deux phases sont formées, une phase aqueuse et une phase organique, ou, d'abord un acide est ajouté puis un alcool monohydrique et un catalyseur acide sont ajoutés dans au moins une partie de l'acide gras formé afin d'estérifier cet acide gras.
