A method of preparing esters and water soluble soaps using intensive mixing utilizing the apparatus of the figure. The esters are prepared by reacting fats and oils with methanol containing caustic as a catalyst wherein the glycerin formed is removed. The resulting esters are saponified with caustic with an additional amount of methanol to form the soap.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'esters et de savons hydrosolubles en recourant à un mélange intensif mettant en oeuvre l'appareil représenté par la figure. On prépare de tels esters en faisant réagir des corps gras et des huiles avec du méthanol chargé d'un agent caustique servant de catalyseur, après élimination de la glycérine qui s'est formée. Les esters résultants sont saponifiés au moyen de l'agent caustique, une addition de méthanol permettant de former le savon.
