A process for producing isocyanate-based, flame-retardant rigid foams by reacting a) organic and/or modified organic polyisocyanates with b) at least one higher-molecular-weight compound having at least two reactive hydrogen atoms and, if desired c) low-molecular-weight chain extenders and/or crosslinkers in the presence of d) flame retardants, e) water, f) blowing agents and g) other auxiliaries and/or additives, comprises using, as blowing agents, a mixture of at least one hydrocarbon which is liquid at room temperature and has 5 or more carbon atoms in the molecule with at least one hydrocarbon which is gaseous at room temperature and has 4 or fewer carbon atoms in the molecule.

On décrit un procédé de production de mousses ignifuges rigides à base d'isocyanate, par réaction a) de polyisocyanates organiques et/ou organiques modifiés avec b) au moins un composé de masse moléculaire plus élevée possédant au moins deux atomes d'hydrogène réactifs et, si on le désire, c) des allongeurs de chaîne et/ou des agents de réticulation de faible masse moléculaire en présence d) d'ignifugeants, e) d'eau, f) de gonflants et g) d'autres substances auxiliaires et/ou additifs. Ce procédé comprend l'utilisation, comme gonflants, d'un mélange constitué d'au moins un hydrocarbure liquide à la température ambiante possédant au moins 5 atomes de carbone dans la molécule et d'au moins un hydrocarbure gazeux à la température ambiante possédant au plus 4 atomes de carbone dans la molécule.
