ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process for producing an ammonium paratungstate salt of small particle size. The steps of reducing the pressure on a solution of ammonium paratungstate in a chamber and freezing the solution by a combined effect of a liquid refrigerant which is inert relative to the salt, and a cold fluid circulated through the chamber and evaporating the solvent from the frozen solution. Ammonium paratungstate particles having no diffracted lines under x-ray analysis are also disclosed.
