A process for producing an ethylbenzene product having a purity of at least 99.50 percent based on the weight of ethylbenzene present in the product by the ethylation of the benzene present in non-extracted feed, e.g., non-extracted hydrocarbon composition. The non-extracted feed is substantially free of both C4- hydrocarbons and the C7+ aromatic hydrocarbons and contains benzene and benzene coboilers. The process is carried out in the liquid phase, in the presence of an acid-active catalyst containing MCM-22 family molecular sieve, and under specified conditions.

L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'un produit d'éthylbenzène ayant une pureté d'au moins 99,50 % par rapport au poids de l'éthylbenzène présent dans le produit grâce à l'éthylation du benzène présent dans une alimentation non extraite, par exemple une composition d'hydrocarbure non extraite. L'alimentation non extraite est essentiellement exempte d'hydrocarbures C4- et d'hydrocarbures aromatiques C7+ et contient du benzène et des produits de cuisson du benzène. Le procédé est mis en AEuvre dans la phase liquide, en présence d'un catalyseur acide actif contenant un tamis moléculaire de la famille MCM-22, et dans les conditions spécifiées.
