F-5702 ZEOLITE ZSM-48, ITS SYNTHESIS AND ITS USE IN THE PRODUCTION OF HIGH VISCOSITY INDEX LUBRICATION OIL STOCK ABSTRACT Zeolite ZSM-48 having a silica/alumina molar ratio of 100 to 250 is synthesized in the presence of an organic linear diquaternary ammonium compound of the formula: [(R')3N+(Z)mN+(R')3](X-)2 wherein R' is alkyl group of 1 to 20 carbon atoms, Z is a bridging member including an alkyl group of 1 to 20 carbon atoms and m is 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10. The resultant zeolite is useful in the catalytic dewaxing of lubricating oil charge stocks.
