TITLE PRODUCTION OF HYDROCARBONS WITH A RELATIVELY HIGH CETANE RATING INVENTOR WAYNE KEITH CRAIG DOUGLAS WAYNE SOVERAN ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There is described a process for producing hydrocarbon products in the diesel boiling range, compris- ing mainly C15-C18 paraffins and being highly effective as diesel fuel ignition improvers. The process comprises hydroprocessing vegetable oils such as canola, sunflower, soybean and rapeseed oils or some fatty acids in hydro- processing temperatures (350-450°C), pressures (4.8-15.2 MPa) and liquid hourly space velocity (LHSV) of 0.5-5.0 hr-1 depending on the type and purity of the feedstock.
