A process for producing hydrogen peroxide comprising the steps of providing a bioelectrochemical system having an anode and a cathode, feeding a feed solution containing organic or inorganic (or both) material to the anode, oxidising the organic or inorganic material at the anode, providing an aqueous stream to the cathode of the bioelectrochemical system, reducing oxygen to hydrogen peroxide at the cathode, and recovering a hydrogen peroxide containing stream from the cathode.

L'invention porte sur un procédé de production de peroxyde d'hydrogène qui consiste à utiliser un système bioélectrochimique ayant une anode et une cathode, à amener une solution de charge contenant une matière organique ou inorganique (ou les deux) au contact de l'anode, à oxyder la matière organique ou inorganique à l'anode, à amener un courant aqueux au contact de la cathode du système bioélectrochimique, à réduire l'oxygène en peroxyde d'hydrogène à la cathode et à récupérer un courant contenant du peroxyde d'hydrogène à la cathode.
