PRODUCTION OF PARTICLES FOR INCORPORATION IN DENTIFRICES ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A dentifrice speckling material is dispersed under high shear agitation in a physiologically acceptable dispersing medium, at such a temperature as to produce a homogeneous dis- persion of molten specking material in a liquid medium and the resultant dispersion is cooled under high shear agitation to solidify the speckling material without solidifying the medium. The speckles may then be recovered by phase separation. The resultant speckles, which may contain up to about 30 weight per- cent of functional and/or aesthetic conventional dentifrice component(s), are of substantially uniform globular shape and size, in the range of about 0.05 to 1 mm in diameter, and do not require size modification, classification or sieving prior to addition to paste or powder oral dentifrice compositions.
